1919-1921
Monet & Goyon Auto-Roue (Auto-Wheel) This is cycle attachment was built under licence and was also available from BSA. The Monet-Goyon version came with 117cc, 119cc and 124cc twostroke engines. The device attached to the rear wheel of a bicycle and gave a top speed of up to 30km/h. Also known as Motor-Wheel and Roue-Motrice.


1919 to 1920. Vélauto Type T

This machine used the Auto-Roue (Auto-Wheel) bicycle engine in a scooter-like machine with a platform on which the rider stood, often with a basket rather than a saddle. The 117cc engine was built under licence to A.W. Wall until 1925, and was also used in their Automouche three-wheelers. The Vélauto was sometimes proclaimed as the world's first scooter, but the Autoped from the United States preceded it in 1916.

1925
The Velauto 2 CV received a 147cc Villiers engine. Later, the Super Velauto had a 270cc Villiers.


1927

Monet-Goyon presented their BL 350 at the Paris Salon in 1927. Powered by a Villiers 344cc inline-twin engine, and it appeared in their 1929 catalog. Villiers ceased production of the engine the same year.

1929-1931
1929-1931 350cc B Villiers - Types B, BF, BS, BS2.
The Villiers 350 MKVIIIB engine was fitted to the RC4C of 1927. For 1929 the Villiers MK IXB was employed, and this one had a flywheel magneto. This engine is found on type B (1928), type BF (1929), type BS (1930) and type BS2 (1931).

Unit construction single-cylinder four stroke engine built by Monet-Goyon, three-speed gearbox - Gurtner carburettor, magneto ignition, tubular frame - parallelogram forks, rigid rear.
The letter L denotes Light, these models having for instance a narrower front guard and less ornate silencer. L versions were generally a bit cheaper.
In 1933 the M3 was renamed ML2.

98cc two-stroke from Villiers using Gurtner or Amal carburettor, single speed. The D versions were "dame" models with open frame. For 1932 they had electric lighting. Options included gearbox and chromium plating.

1926 Monet & Goyon 350cc type MCS, MCSC 1927 MCSC2 1928
Single-cylinder 350cc four stroke M.A.G. engine (MCS & MCSC OHV, MCSC2 IOE).
chain / chain drive, three or four speed gearbox, Zenith carburettor, magneto ignition. Tubular frame with parallelogram forks, rigid rear.
The MCSC had 200mm drum brakes and 105 km/h top speed.

1932

Monet & Goyon 350cc type MG35 1931-1932, MG35L Luxe 1932

Introduced at the Paris Show in 1930, the machine had a unit-construction wet sump 350cc SV engine by Monet-Goyon with a 3-speed gearbox, 3-ring piston and aluminium cylinder head. It was fitted with a Gurtner carburettor, flywheel magneto, and a QD rear wheel of unusual construction.

Max speed 90 km/h.

Optional lighting kit. Later models had a different flywheel.


1928 to 1934.

Monet & Goyon 350cc Model G Super-Sport, and GA. (1933-34)
Single cylinder OHV M.A.G. Type 1C14H engine, with separate three-speed gearbox. Magneto ignition, Amac carburettor, parallelogram forks with rigid rear. Saddle tank holds 11.5 litres, oil tank 3.5 litres.
Max speed 100 km/h.

The GA model had a variety of improvements including lubricated valves and an optional Albion 4 speed gearbox with foot-operated gear selector. It became the CSG model for 1935-1957.


1935 to 1937

Monet & Goyon 350cc MAG type CSG

The CSG replaced the G and GA models and is 10kg lighter, 130kg as opposed to 140kg for the GA. It has the same single cylinder OHV M.A.G. Type 1C14H engine, with separate three-speed gearbox with hand-change on tank or foot control by gear lever. Magneto ignition, MAG carburettor, parallelogram forks with rigid rear. Saddle tank of 11 litres capacity, oil tank 2.2 litres.

Max speed 135 kh/h.

Optional luggage rack and lighting.


1933-1936
Monet & Goyon 350cc type ML4 1933, M4 1933-1936

Single-cylinder side-valve 350cc Monet-Goyon unit-construction engine with three-speed gearbox, with Gurtner carburettor and magneto ignition. Saddle tank of 10 litres capacity, tubular frame with parallelogram forks which had a large tyre pump mounted on the left, rigid rear end. Aluminium fishtail muffler. The M4 valanced mudguards and more chrome than the ML4.

Wheels and tyres: 26 x 3.50 front and rear.

The M4A was tested by the military in 1933, but a contract with the armed forces was not forthcoming. The similar L4A was later accepted.


1934-1935 L4

Monet & Goyon 350cc type L4 1934-1935, AL4 Lateral Tourisme 1936-1937, AL4SA Luxe 1937 (Champion de France, with rear suspension)

Monet-Goyon single-cylinder 350cc sidevalve engine with separate 3-speed type DD gearbox, Amac or Gurtner carburettor. The exhaust muffler was of cylindrical styling, rising from below the gearbox on the left side at an angle of roughly 20 degrees.

Maximum speed: 95 km/h.

Options included enamel paint schemes, chromed tank and guards and stainless spokes.


1936-1942 L4, LS4

Monet-Goyon single-cylinder 350cc sidevalve engine with separate 3-speed gearbox, Amac or Gurtner carburettor.

Weight 110 kg, tyres 26 x 3.25 front and rear.

Inclined 350cc OHV engine dry sump with separate four-speed LSS type gearbox, dual exhaust ports, dry sump, parallelogram forks in rigid frame. The ALS4SA Champion de France had as rear suspension.

1927 - 1933 Monet & Goyon 500cc type H, HA 1933 - 1935 Super Sport

486 cc M.A.G. OHV with separate 3-speed close-ratio gearbox, AMAC carburettor and magneto ignition. The parallelogram forks are mounted on a rigid tubular frame with tandem front downtubes with a
flat tank mounted between two upper frame rails. A saddle tank was fitted as early as 1929.

Tyres: 26x 3.25, expanding drum brakes 200mm, dual exhaust ports with fishtail mufflers or abbreviated removable exhaust canisters.
Lighting optional on early models.


Monet & Goyon 500cc type K 1928-1932, KA 1933 to 1935.

486cc M.A.G. IOE, separate 3-speed or optional Albion 4-speed gearbox, parallelogram forks in rigid tubular frame similar to that of the H & HA model, as is the tank, with a full saddle tank fitted ca 1931.
Electric lighting standard.
Max speed 110 km/h.

1936 CSH Monet & Goyon 500cc type CSH 1936 (or 1935)

486 cc M.A.G. IOE engine with separate 3-speed or optional 4-speed gearbox in a single-downtube rigid frame with parallelogram forks. The motorcycle was developed using chassis parts from the LS5 and the engine from the HA.


1935-1938 L5 Monet & Goyon 500cc type L5 Lateral Tourism and L5P, 1935 to 1938. (Koehler-Escoffier KL5L)

487 cc single cylinder SV Monet-Goyon engine with separate 3 speed gearbox (4-speed gearbox with LSS type), Gurtner carburettor, rigid tubular frame with parallelogram fork. Sculptured 16 litre fuel tank, 180 mm drum brakes.
Weigth 140kg, max speed 100 km/h.
Optional rear suspension on Luxe version.

 


1935-1938 LS5

1935 LS5S

The LS5S had a 487ccc Monet-Goyon OHV engine with a separate foot-operated four-speed gearbox

Suspension by parallelogram forks with plunger style at rear.

Max speed 130-135 km/h.


1936-1939 ALS5

Monet & Goyon 500cc type ALS5 1936-1939

The ALS5 had a 487ccc Monet-Goyon OHV engine with a separate foot-operated gearbox. It weight 150kg and some versions could attain 135 km/h.

From 1937 the Luxe version had plunger rear suspension and was deemed the ALS5SA Champion de France (SA denotes rear suspension).



Monet & Goyon 500cc Militaire types L5A 1936, L5A1 1939, L5A2 1940

The L5A had a 487cc single-cylinder side-valve engine and separate 4-speed gearbox with hand-change on the tank, and was equipped with a Morel magneto. The rigid tubular frame had parallelogram forks, 350 x 19 or 26 x 3.50 tyres and a fuel tank of 15 litres capacity.

It was available with Bernardet or Monet-Goyon sidecar.

Over 1600 of the L5A were delivered to the French military. The L5A1 was sold as a 4-speed civilian version during the occupation.
