The Bastert Einspurauto
Deutsche Version
|
The Bastert factory in Bielefeld touted the single-track car as "a vehicle of outstanding perfection." This pronounced self-confidence, however, was met with considerable reluctance from potential buyers. The price, at 1960 marks, was perhaps a bit too steep for the extensive features. Furthermore, the development and manufacturing costs exceeded the company's financial resources. During the entire production run (1952-1956), only about 1200 einspurautos left the factory. The few remaining examples are now highly sought-after rarities.
