F.N. 1947

Le bloc-moteur de la 350 cmc. F.N.

The engine block of the 350cc F.N. with rocker arms. It shares many details with the side-valve engine, as can easily be seen by comparing this photograph with the one on the previous page. The only different parts for the four models produced are the cylinders, cylinder heads, and pistons. The other parts are standardized, which facilitates their storage and supply.

What will immediately catch the eye of visitors is the modification made to the front fork of the various models.

While retaining the principle of the trailing wheel, F.N. has modified the shape of its fork in a very successful way, giving it a more classic appearance. It will be agreed, based on the illustrations opposite, that the current look of the machine can no longer raise any criticisms; the seat stays are positioned so that they follow the curve of the fender in their upper part, and the lower triangle presents nothing that could disrupt the overall harmony.

Not only has the appearance been modified, but the suspension is now provided by rubber rings, originally planned, but which the engineers had delayed adopting, not being until then certain of the quality of this product...
