Girardengo Motorcycles

A Brief History of the Marque

Manufactured: 1951-54

A motorcycle factory founded in Alessandria (between Milan and Genoa) by champion cyclist Costante Girardengo and his sons Luciano and Ettore in 1951. The firm built light motorcycles with 125 and 175cc two-stroke engines until 1954.

Motorcycling was really a sideline for this man. He was no ordinary champion - he is considered one of the finest riders of all time, having won 9 consecutive Italian championships and ranked number one in the world five times between 1919 and 1926.

Giradengo motoleggera employed Sterzi engines.

Dear European Motorcycle team,
I'm considering to buy a Girardengo 125cc motorbike. Interesting for me because these bikes were built in my home town, Alessandria.
The mechanics looks pretty simple, but I'm sure I will find some problems in it. Wheels are rusted (surface polishing is gone, but still looks solid) and paintwork is faded.
I would like to ask our help on: understanding the value of this bike. I was considering to pay for this 600 Euro, collecting some materials: any kind of technical info is more than welcome
BR
Giulio

Given that the machine bears the name of such a famous racer, and is powered assumedly by an engine from a very collectable marque, the machine is almost certainly quite valuable. For guides on pricing try this page: Vintage Motorcycle Prices
Have no technical information on the marque at present.
