Kolibri Bicycle Engines

There were three German machines named Kolibri.

1. Manufactured 1923-1930

Cycle attachment engines available separately or assembled with a Kolibri bicycle. These were marketed by the Europa firm in Munich, who fitted them to Dixi cycles. The Kolibri engine may later have been renamed Markus

2. Manufactured 1951- by Peter Hösch, Hoco-Fahrzeugbau, Floßmannstraße 37, Munich.

This was a 110cc two-stroke auxiliary bicycle engine mounted above the front wheel, available as a complete machine or as a kit.


3. Weka G.m.b.H., Munchen, Isartalstr. 44a
Kolibri Hilfsmotor, Weka

N.B. A number of firms used variations of the Kolibri name.
