Indus Motorcycles

'Industria' Gesellschaft für technischen Bedarf mbH of Potsdamer Straße, Berlin, built motorcycles in 1924 and 1925 [1] using 350cc engines designed by Gnädig and built by Kühne in Dresden. These had chain drive via a Sturmey-Archer gearbox, and some models had front and rear leaf-spring suspension.

They also used JAP 346cc and 496cc OHV engines, Blackburne 350cc, and 497cc OHC units from Kürchen.

The Indus brand appeared in results for national competitions throughout 1925.

As did so many others, the company succumbed to the devastating inflation of the mid-1920s - sales plummeted and production ceased around late 1925.

NB. 1. Possibly 1924-1927.
