Hochland Motorcycles

Manufactured by Gebr. Emslander Motorenfabrik, Hochland-Motorenwerke, of Bismarckplatz Landshut, 1924 to c.1927.

The brothers Eduard and Heinrich Emslander ran a similarly named company before the first war which produced engines. Reformed around 1922, the new firm designed and built a 496cc flat twin motorcycle which in appearance was very similar to the Victoria KR1. The machine appeared in 1924 and was powered by their own GELA (Gebrüder Emslander Landshut) OHV 500cc engine with belt drive to the rear wheel. An updated model had chain drive and internal drum brakes front and rear. Production was limited, with stiff competition from BMW.

The company also built Rohöl (crude oil) engines.
