A Brief History of the Marque

Manufactured by Gebr. Herbig, Herbi-Werk of Bad Liebenwerda.

Adolf and Oskar Herbig established the firm in 1924 and built motorcycles until 1928, and possibly as late as 1932. Using the same frame and running gear, the firm's customers had the choice of three models - one had a 200cc SV engine (probably built in-house but perhaps a Blackburne); another had a Kürchen three-valve powerplant, and late in the piece a model with a Kühne ohv twin-port engine was introduced.

Chain drive to the rear wheel soon replaced belt drive, and the larger machines had sidecar lugs on the frame.
