A Brief History of the Italian Alcyon
In 1910 Cesarani of Caravaggio (BG), the importer of Alcyon, built motorcycles using the French engine and marketed the machine under the Alcyon banner.
As the market proved receptive Alcyon Italia was establshied as a subsidiary to the parent company, with its base initially in Chiari, Brescia and then, in 1925, in Turin. They also built the Alcyonnette 98 under licence.
The association was short-lived due to the financial woes engulfing the country as a result of gross mismanagement by the fascist regime, and it folded in 1928.
