McEvoy were constructed in Derby by Michael McEvoy from 1924 to 1929.
1924-1927 Michael McEvoy specialized in road and racing motorcycles built to exacting standards and high cost. These were mainly V-twins with 996cc Anzani or 980cc JAP ohv engines. The designer was George Patchett who was previously with Brough Superior and later with Jawa. They were similar in appearance to the Brough Superior, as they had bulbous saddle tanks and large diameter drum brakes. Also on offer were machines with smaller capacity engines, including 348cc ohv Blackburne, 344cc and 490cc ohv JAP and the 172cc VilliersSuper Sports.
1928 At the motorcycle show, late that year, other machines were exhibited. They had 346cc OHC single and 600cc OHC four-cylinder engines of his own design.
1929 Those machines were catalogued for the season, but it is unlikely that any were produced, as the company ceased trading that year.
