Francis Barnett appeared during 1920 and were notable for the unusual frame construction employed on their machines. The frame was comprised of eight pairs of tubes, one pair of which were kinked. The assembly of the components was said to take a few minutes and the company made much of the strength and simplicity of the design in their advertising. Villiers two strokes provided the motive power for the machines ranging in capacity from 147cc to 343cc. This 172cc example, dating from 1928 and consequently eligible for vintage events, is described by the vendor as being in good condition mechanically with average cosmetics. The fuel tank is finished in maroon with the rest of the cycle parts in black and a full lighting kit is fitted. It is offered with a Swansea V5C and a quantity of information including a letter from the previous owner, an original owner's handbook, an original Villiers maintence manual and copies of the parts lists.
