Colonial was a motorcycle produced between 1911 and 1913.
The engine was own-produced and was a two-stroke of about 450cc. As it was considerably larger that the usual 3½ hp four-stroke engine that customers preferred at the time, this cannot have helped sales. The rest of the machine would have been very similar to others available and made with bought-in parts.
The Colonial is believed to have been built by H. Carter of Ibstock who was earlier responsible for the Howard. An example of the Colonial is in the collection of Leicester's Abbey Pumping Station Museum. (see British Museums)
