Hermann Bauer Motorcycles

A Brief History of the Marque

This machine was built from 1926 to 1932 - only one is known to exist in original condition. The founder of the firm, Hermann Bauer was a trained baker who operated his own bakery business in the city of Braunschweig.

In 1926 he decided to go into the business of manufacturing motorcycles.

Bauer (unrelateed to the Bauer of the 1950s) used a British Sturmey-Archer single-cylinder 500cc 4-stroke engine. After 1933, Hermann Bauer concentrated on repairing bikes.
