Velocette made only twelve Dirt Track KTD machines and this particular machine, that was ridden by "Smiling" Jim Kempster, may well have been the prototype.

It was powered by a "Velo" 411cc motor and whilst being notably quick, the loss of some 90cc to the 500cc machines proved to be too great a loss of power.
