Barré Motorcycles

Built by G. Barré, 79 Deux-Sèvres Niort

The firm dates from 1888 and produced automobiles, motorcycles and cycles. A detailed French article states "Gaston Barré began, in 1899, the construction of tricycles and quadricycles...", but makes no further mention of tricycles.

The company name was changed to "Barré & Lamberthon, Successeurs" in the mid-1920s. Lamberthon was a financier. The name was changed yet again in 1926 when Lamberthon left and management was entrusted to the founder's son, Maxime Barré.

The firm was acquired by Guiller Frères in 1930.
