On this day it was announced that Queen Eliabeth II would award Bruce Anstey of New Zealand an MNZM for services to motorsport.
Anstey won ten IOM TT races.
He also won both the North West 200 and the Ulster Grand Prix ten times.

Las Vegas - Australian stunt rider Robbie Maddison jumped 96 feet up onto the Arc de Triomphe in front of Paris Las Vegas. He then jumped 80 feet down to ground level.
