Archibald Montgomery Low born this day.
He built the first television set in 1914, developed a Tesla idea which became known later as the "drone", founded the British Interplanetary Society and was chairman of the ACU for 24 years. His four-cylinder two-stroke motorcycle was truly a work of genius.
Gus Kuhn was born this day.
He competed in road racing, scrambles, observed trials, hill climbs, rodeo riding, sprint riding, speedway, ISDT and even the Wall of Death. He rode speedway with Stamford Bridge, the Wimbledon Dons, the Wembley Lions and the Lea Bridge team, some of which he captained. He founded Gus Kuhn Motors in London in 1932.

Australian Speedway Champion Jim Airey featured on the cover of "Speedway Star & News Magazine".
Jim won the Australian Championship in 1968, '69 and '70, all held at the Sydney Showground. In the 1960s he rode with the
Wolverhampton Wolves and Sheffield Tigers, and competed internationally with the Great Britain speedway team.
