Born this day, Honor Blackman was a motorcycle despatch rider during WWII, and later rode a Norton 1949 500cc ES2.
One of her many roles during her extensive acting career was that of the Bond girl in Goldfinger. In The Avengers series of 1961 she performed many judo actions, an art at which she was quite proficient. Blackman was also a singer, releasing the album Everything I've Got and a number of singles. She retired from acting around 2016 and died a few years later, aged 94. Pussy Galore

Rupert Hollaus of Austria wins the 250cc Class Swiss Grand Prix at Circuit Bremgarten in Bern, Switzerland.

In 1954 Hollaus became the first posthumous World Champion. He died in a accident during practice for the Italian Grand Prix.
