John Dolphin CBE dies Whitchurch-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, aged 67.
Inventor the Welbike whilst commanding SOE "Station IX" at Welwyn, he also invented midget submarines. An Ariel Square Four rider, he founded Corgi Motorcycle Co Ltd in 1946 before becoming Chief Engineer at the Atomic Weapons Research Establishment.
The first Harley-Davidson Dealer magazine is published. It was printed from 1912 to 1916.
