Gustav Otto died this day. He was a German aircraft and aircraft engine designer and manufacturer. He is responsible for the "Otto Cycle".

The first round of the 2010 Superbike World Championship is held at Phillip Island in Victoria, Australia. Previously it had been held at Oran Park in Sydney, famed for the Six Hour races run there from 1984, and previously at Amaroo Park, from 1970.
