Quasar Replica, 1976 CX500

Quasar-1976-CX-DSC-5070.jpg
The first bike was built in the UK in 1976 and a total of only 22 were ever built up until 1982 when the company closed. They used four cylinder 850cc Reliant engines.

This machine is a reproduction built in New Zealand using a Honda CX500 V-twin engine, and has travelled over 70,000km. The bodywork is hand-crafted in aluminium and is a faithful representation of the original Quasar.

At low speeds the long wheelbase hinders handling, but at speed it handles and corners as well as the best sports motorcycles of the day.

Of the 22 original Quasars built, 21 are still in use.
