Oscar Egg Mopeds

A Brief History of the Marque

43 & 57 Av. de la Grande-Armée

Oscar Egg was a famous Swiss bicycle racer who captured world records before the First World War and featured prominently in major races like the Tour de France.

After the second war he saw an opportunity to help with recovery by adapting Ducati's new Cucciolo engine to his own motor bicycles. Initially the engines were the T2 model obtained from Ducati, and later they were supplied by Rocher who produced them under licence.

The firm also made bicycle components including lugs and derailleurs exported to the UK and elsewhere, and was a pioneer of the recumbent bicycle.
