Antonin Magne Motorcycles

A Brief History of the Marque

Manufactured by Mercier

Like André Leducq, the four Lapébie riders and Louison Bobet, Antonin Magne was a famous cyclist. His name was strongly associated with bicycles, and during the 1950s Mercier marketed Ydral-powered motorcycles and Himo, VAP and possibly Wilmer-powered BMAs under the names A. Magne and Antonin Magne.

Magne became directeur sportif for several famous riders and team manager at Mercier from 1951 to 1958. For his great contribution to the sport he was made a Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur in 1962.
