A Brief History of the Marque

Jaroslav Frei, previously head of Jawa, designed a range of unusual scooters of 98cc and 123cc which were produced in Zurich between 1950 and 1954.

In France, AMI scooters were marketed by Motobloc.

N.B. Germany also had an AMI brand, an OHV clip-on bicycle engine of 49cc made between 1921 and 1925. See Auto-Motoren-Industrie

Dear Sir,
I live in France and I have got a 1951 scooter AMI Achilles 98cm3.
My problem is that i cannot use it and get french registration documents until i will not be able to give the french homologation papers (which says it as been saled in France) of this vehicule or history of it (sales quantity etc...).
Can you help me or give me some contacts, clubs for me to get those documents.

Hi
I represent Swedens first and only scootermuseum and we recently got our mitts on a AMI scooter from 1952! Some parts are missing (seat, front-shield, side-shields and rear wing) but looks like the rest is working.
My question is if you can send me information an history of the make and model and maybe contact information to someone that that can be of assistance regarding the missing parts...
