Basse Hveem Motorcycles

The name Basse Hveem appears frequently in the annals of Norwegian speedway, often associated with that of Kjell Samsing.

Leif O. "Basse" Hveem built ice racers and speedway machines, among them the Hveem Special powered by an SRM engine which was lighter and more powerful than the JAP.

Hveem also marketed helmets and leather jackets under his name. He was involved with the Husqvarna 175cc Silverpilen in the late fifties, and his name appeared on Husqvarna advertising brochures.

His speedway career is legendary - Basse Hveem was European Longtrack Champion, Continental Champion, Nordic Champion and took the Norwegian Championship 7 times.
