Prior to 1925 Bradshaw engines were initially produced by James Walmsley & Co in Preston and marketed by Gilbert Campling.

The longstroke oil-cooled overhead valve 350cc Bradshaw engine as used by OK from 1924 to 1928 is of 68x96mm bore-stroke breathing through a Brown & Barlow carburettor. The engine has mechanical lubrication, not a common feature on early 1920s machines, and is fitted with a a three-speed gearbox.
