Sachs 150cc from 1953

Hi,
I got a bike with sachs 150cc from 1953, on the handlebar there is a third lever which I suppose help for the kickstarter because the cable goes into the gearbox, but I don't know how to use it and why.
Thanks[/img]

A smaller lever on the right, under the throttle, correct?
It kicks the bike out of gear. Hit it when you pull up to a stop, now you are in neutral. Shift down to first when you are ready to pull away. It helps to avoid having to find neutral every time you stop, and is very handy once you get in the habit of using it.
Cheers
