Read Brothers

Rebro were motorcycles produced by the Read Brothers (REad BROthers) of Tunbridge Wells in Kent, from 1923 to 1929.

These lightweight machines were assembled from proprietary components. Villiers engines of various capacities from 147cc to 247cc were used, plus Albion two-speed or Sturmey-Archer three-speed gearboxes. By the time production came to an end, both the styling and continued use of belt drive were very out-dated.

  • Note: It is believed that there was a family connection with the Read family of the Ready marque.
