Argyle Motorcycles

A Brief History of the Marque

A limited number of motorcycles were produced under the Argyle marque around 1913 at an address in Stoke, Coventry, and they were an early adopter of JAP engines. Typical of the era, they had Druid-style forks, an upright engine installation and belt drive.

Another source states:

Argyle were motorcycles built before the Great War.

The company was located in Argyle Street, Birkenhead (Liverpool). They built a few very basic and primitive machines. They were probably dealers who based their machines on heavy-duty cycle frames with the engine hung from it, with belt drive to the rear wheel.
