RTX Motorcycles

RTX motorcycles were produced from 1991 to 2001 in South Humberside.

These machines were assembled using Minsk engines from Belarus, with other components sourced from Taiwan, Japan, U.K., Germany, India, and Latvia. The result was a low-cost, off-road motorcycle designed for club level competition. They were of good quality with low maintenance.

A common duplex frame was used across the range, this with twin rear shocks or the more up-to-date single shock suspension particularly on the trials machines. The two-stroke engines were assembled by the firm, and were of 125cc or 212cc. Most models had drum brakes, but a front disc was also available.

Trials models, with either type of suspension or engine capacity, were also built. There were twin-shock moto-cross machines in both sizes, and a 125cc enduro model. Also produced were smaller machines for children and a monkey bike.

Some 125 models were exported to the USA and were distributed by Cosmopolitan Motors.

Models include RTX 212 Trials

Jon Bliss was associated with the marque.

The marque was advertised in Canada and the US in Enduro and Trials versions with 125cc and 212cc engines. The Angelfire site gives no address and states:

  • These bikes are the top sellers in England, and when tested by Steve Saunders (10 time British Champion ) he said "For the money it has just got to be a BRILLIANT BIKE " ( Dirt Bike Rider, May 1995 ).
