A Brief History of Motori Ausiliari Velocipedi
Motori Ausiliari Velocipedi of Milan built a 45cc scooter (c.1952) using its Jolly auxiliary engine which weighed a mere 6.5 kg.
The engine was fitted to mopeds by other manufacturers including Cigno-Ambrosiano of Milan and Velo Frejus in Turin.
M.A.V. also built 49cc two-stroke engines with chain drive and a two-speed gearbox.
These engines were also used by other manufacturers including Aldbert and Rossignoli.
125cc motocross machines branded MAV were available in 1979 and 1980.
