A Brief History of the Italian Marque
Leonardo Frera costruisce col suo marchio moto dal 1931 al 1934 nello stabilimento
Frera di Tradate impiegando prima motori francesi Chaise 175 e 350 con
cambio Burman, poi JAP 175 e 350 e il torinese Aster.
Nel
dopoguerra la produzione è ripresa a Padova nello stabilimento di via
Armistizio, dal 1949 al 1956 un migliaio le moto prodotte.
Le
prime 125 impiegano motore Sterzi poi un propulsore progettato da un ingegnere
tedesco, il motore è simile al Ceccato, poi anche delle 150 e 175 4t con
motore FBM.
È stata progettata anche una 250 bicilindrica a due tempi ma non se ne ha traccia e neppure fotografie.
Leonardo Frera built motorcycles under his own name from 1931 to
1934 in the Frera factory in Tradate before using French Chaise 175 and 350 engines with Burman gearboxes, and later JAP 175 and 350cc engines along with the Turin-built Aster.
After the war production recommenced in Padua in the Via Armistice from 1949 to 1956 with an output of around a thousand motorcycles.
The first had a 125cc Sterzi engine similar to Ceccato, and other models had 150 and 175 4-stroke engines from FBM.
They also designed a 250 twin-cylinder two-stroke of which few records are available.
