Juwel Sidecars

A Brief History of the Marque

The company was founded by Alfed Jockisch and the registered business name in the city archives of Leipzig list the company as 'Alfred Jokisch Fahrzeugbau Gmbh' and was also known as 'Juwel-Leipzig'.

Juwel was influential pioneering the torpedo-shape.

A large variety of sidecar bodies and chasis was offered, most of them suitable for large-capacity motorcycles designed for sidecar useage.

These heavy sidecars featured excellent suspension systems including, on some models, adjustable shock absorbers. One of the more interesting models was a side-by-side two-seater with a comparatively light weight of 60 kg.
