A Brief History of the Italian Marque
Imprese Generali Meccaniche, based in Via Boccaccio Milan, with a factory in Arcore which built bodies for buses and trams, presented at the 1947 Milan Show a motor scooter with a 123cc two-stroke engine possibly of their own construction. Named Bantam, it had automatic clutch control and a three-speed foot shift gearbox.
They also offered a motofurgoncino using the same engine, with carrier box at the front. This machine, named the Checca, was similar in appearance to the Bantam from the cockpit back.
According to some sources one or both of these were built in several prototypes as late as 1955. However, it seems very likely that construction did not proceed beyond the pre-production examples.
