Alter Mopeds

A Brief History of the Marque

Made in Chalette-sur-Loing, France, from 1955 to 1956, they produced a moped of 49cc, and also built engines. The Valmobile is thought to have been fitted with a 60cc Alter engine.

In the mid-50s the firm was absorbed by Favor, who produced Favor-Alter mopeds named Imperator with 2-speed 49cc and 70cc Alter engines.

CM 50 49.8cc 2-speed
VL 95 66.4cc 2-speed
